HLTAID011 First Aid certificates are valid for 3 years. HLTAID009 CPR should be renewed annually.

Do I need a USI to complete a first aid course?

Yes. A Unique Student Identifier (USI) is required by law for all nationally recognised training in Australia. You can create one for free at usi.gov.au.

What are the CPR assessment requirements?

CPR must be performed and assessed on the floor for a minimum of 2 continuous minutes. This is a mandatory compliance requirement under Australian Resuscitation Council guidelines.

DRSABCD is the action plan: Danger, Response, Send for help, Airway, Breathing, CPR, Defibrillation. This is the Australian Resuscitation Council standard.

Is HLTAID009 the same as HLTAID011?

No. HLTAID009 is CPR only. HLTAID011 includes CPR plus additional first aid skills. If you only need CPR renewal, HLTAID009 is your course.

What if I have a physical condition affecting kneeling?
