Complete First Aid

If you want a comprehensive first aid qualification beyond CPR, HLTAID011 is the choice.

CPR Assessment Requirement: HLTAID011 includes a mandatory 2-minute continuous CPR assessment performed on the floor. This is a requirement of the national training package and cannot be waived. Participants must demonstrate competency in CPR technique to receive their certificate. If you have concerns about floor work, please discuss this before booking. For validation of cancelled certificates, check dewr.gov.au or ABC First Aid.

Anaphylaxis Recognition and Response

HLTAID011 includes anaphylaxis recognition and adrenaline autoinjector use. Early action is critical in anaphylaxis. Coronial inquiries into anaphylaxis deaths in Australia consistently highlight delayed response as a contributing factor. Our training covers rapid recognition of anaphylaxis symptoms, correct use of adrenaline autoinjectors (EpiPen and similar devices), and immediate emergency response procedures. Learn more from Allergy & Anaphylaxis Australia's coronial inquiry information and ASCIA guidelines on acute management of anaphylaxis.

Frequently Asked Questions

Not exactly. HLTAID011 is the specific unit of competency from the Australian national training package. It's the standard workplace first aid qualification and is more comprehensive than generic first aid courses. It includes CPR, anaphylaxis, wound care, shock management, and more. Make sure you enrol in HLTAID011 specifically to meet workplace requirements.
Yes. HLTAID011 includes HLTAID009 Provide CPR as a component. You will learn CPR for adults, children, and infants, including continuous 2-minute assessment on the floor. You cannot complete HLTAID011 without CPR. If you only need CPR, you can enrol in HLTAID009 as a standalone course.
Your HLTAID011 certificate is valid for 3 years. However, the CPR component (HLTAID009) must be renewed annually. This means you'll need to refresh your CPR annually while your full HLTAID011 remains valid for 3 years.
Our standard session is express at 3-4 hours. A full day is available on request. Contact [email protected] to arrange a full-day session if you prefer a slower pace or want more practice time.
Pre-learning is optional but recommended. An online module takes 1-2 hours and covers theory before the practical session. This gives you more time during the session to practise skills and ask questions. If you prefer to learn everything in the practical session, that's fine too.
You must demonstrate 2 minutes of continuous, uninterrupted CPR on the floor. This is assessed by your trainer and is a mandatory requirement of the national training package. The assessment is practical, not written, and your trainer will guide you through it. If you have any concerns about floor work, discuss this before booking.
Depending on your course format, you'll receive your certificate either on the day (digital copy) or within 5 business days (digital and hard copy). If you're unsure, ask your trainer at the end of the session. Your certificate is issued by ABC First Aid RTO 3399.
Absolutely. Workplace groups save time and money. Email [email protected] with your group size and preferred dates. We can arrange a custom session at your workplace or a nearby location with pricing tailored to group numbers.
Compliance Statement: Training and Assessment is delivered by Britt Brennan on behalf of ABC First Aid RTO 3399 since 1997. All courses comply with national training package requirements and SafeWork Australia standards. For more information about REACHAU, visit reachau.com.au.
